The 2025 International Plasma Technology Joint Conference (IPTJC2025) was held from June 25 to 28, 2025, at the Innovation Building of Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT). The event was organized by the Plasma and Thin Film Technology Center and co-organized by the Department of Materials Engineering. As the largest international academic event in Taiwan's plasma and thin film technology field in recent years, the conference attracted over 380 scholars, researchers, and industry representatives from 18 countries, including the United States, France, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, and Germany, among others.

The IPTJC2025 features three important symposia:

  • A. Cryogenic plasma and low temperature etching technology
  • B. Plasma technology
  • C. Thin film and coating technology for sustainable development goals

A total of 265 abstracts were submitted, covering a wide range of topics from fundamental theory to industrial applications. The program featured 3 plenary sessions, 10 keynote sessions, over 30 invited presentations, and multiple regular oral and poster sessions, demonstrating Taiwan’s innovation and international competitiveness in plasma and thin film research. Plenary speakers included Prof. Johanna Rosen from Linköping University (Sweden), Prof. Mark Kushner from the University of Michigan (USA), and Prof. Eun Ha Choi from Kwangwoon University (Korea). Their talks focused on cutting-edge topics such as material synthesis, plasma modeling, and advanced applications, drawing large audiences and active discussions. Keynote and invited speakers came from leading academic and research institutions in Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, France, and more. Their presentations covered key technologies such as plasma reaction mechanisms, coating processes, materials simulation, and energy conversion, offering in-depth insights and inspiration. The conference also included oral and poster competitions for students, providing a platform for young researchers to present their work and receive professional feedback. In addition, two Short Courses were offered, focusing on High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering (HiPIMS) and plasma simulation techniques, attracting 71 participants. In terms of industry-academia collaboration, a technology exhibition area was set up with key companies such as Lam Research and Applied Materials showcasing their latest processing technologies and equipment. Initial discussions were held regarding potential future collaborations with MCUT and other research institutions, including joint international project applications.

IPTJC2025 conference delivered outstanding results in academic exchange, talent cultivation, technical education, and industry-academia collaboration. It firmly established MCUT's international leadership in plasma and thin film technology and continuously enhances Taiwan's global visibility and influence in sustainable technology applications.
