“Santa Claus Is Coming to MCUT”: President Thu-Hua Liu Delivers Warm Christmas Wishes to International Students

On Christmas Day, 2024, Office of International Affairs, MCUT held a heartwarming and joyful Christmas celebration, attracting over 50 international students. The venue was adorned with beautiful Christmas decorations, twinkling lights, and a festive atmosphere, making it one of the most vibrant holiday events on campus this year.

The most surprising moment of the event came when the special guest, President Dr. Thu-Hua Liu, made his grand entrance. Donning a Santa Claus outfit and carrying a gift bag, President Liu, accompanied by      

Dr. Chieh-Lan Li, Dean of the Office of International Affairs personally handed out candies to students seated in the room while offering heartfelt holiday wishes. This gesture showcased the university's deep care and support for international students. The President’s warm presence and the Dean’s enthusiastic interaction sparked applause from the audience, with many students eager to take photos with them and share in the festive joy. International students expressed that such events made them feel truly supported by the university and gave them a sense of “being at home.”

During the event, President Liu interacted with the students and said, “Thank you to all the international students who chose to study at MCUT for further degrees. Through this warm and joyful event, we hope to demonstrate the ‘Your Home in Taiwan’ concept, allowing you to feel the atmosphere of home at MCUT.” Dean Li further mentioned, “This event is not only about showing care for international students but also an important opportunity to promote cultural exchange and understanding. In the future, the university will continue to organize more events to encourage cultural integration, provide more opportunities for mutual exchange, and promote the international development of the campus.”

After the event, the international students gave high praise, saying the event not only made them feel the warmth of home but also made their Christmas full of surprises and joy. This event was not only a celebration filled with holiday spirit but also a demonstration of MCUT’s commitment and efforts to promote the internationalization of the campus, closing 2024 on a warm note and opening a new chapter for 2025.
