On November 6, 2024, Professor Dorit Schumann, President of Trier University of Applied Sciences (TUAS), and Professor Henrik Te Heeseen, Vice President, visited Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) accompanied by Secretary Yu-Lin Chen from the Ministry of Education’s Department of International and Cross-Strait Education. They were warmly received by Director of International Affairs, Chieh-Lan Li.

The visit began with a guided tour of the university’s History Room, where the TUAS delegation gained a deeper understanding of MCUT’s founding background and development journey. The delegation then visited the Green Energy Battery Research Center, where Professor Chun-Cheng Yang, the center's director, introduced the university's research achievements and future directions in the field of green energy, showcasing MCUT’s technical strengths and professional contributions.

The highlight of the visit was the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities. The MOU was jointly signed by MCUT President Tsu-Hua Liu and TUAS President Dorit Schumann, witnessed by Vice President Henrik Te Heeseen, MCUT Vice President Cheng-Min Ma, Director of International Affairs Chieh-Lan Li, Dean Lin Chin-Kuan, and Professors Jang Run-Hua, Chuang Miao-Hsien, and Chun-Cheng Yang. The signing of the MOU symbolizes the beginning of a close partnership in education, laying a solid foundation for future academic exchanges and professional collaborations, particularly in the field of green energy technology. Both parties look forward to advancing research and development in this area.

The following day, at the invitation of Director-General Yu-Juan Li of the Ministry of Education’s Department of International and Cross-Strait Education, Director of International Affairs Chieh-Lan Li joined the TUAS delegation for a dinner, further fostering friendly relations between the two sides. This visit not only strengthened mutual trust but also laid the groundwork for deeper cooperation in the future, opening a new chapter in their partnership.
