update date : 2026-04-24

Ming Chi University of Technology held an environmental education lecture event in the second semester of the 114 academic year, actively responding to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Centered on the theme of “Sustainable Education,” the university invited faculty, students, and community residents to participate in an experiential activity at Daluntou Strawberry Farm. Through on-site visits and interactive learning, the event aimed to deepen public awareness and understanding of environmental sustainability issues.

This event integrated the local farm’s long-standing commitment to organic agriculture and ecological conservation, putting the spirit of the SDGs into practice through education, innovation, and community engagement. Activities included guided farm tours, strawberry-picking experiences, and educational sessions on food and agriculture, enabling participants to understand strawberry production processes and local agricultural特色, while enhancing their appreciation for eco-friendly farming and environmental protection. In addition, the event provided opportunities for parent-child co-learning, fostering family interaction and cultivating healthy eating habits and respect for food among children.

Furthermore, by combining agricultural experiences with leisure tourism, the event attracted visitors to the Daluntou area. This not only helped promote strawberries and related agricultural products and increase farmers’ income, but also stimulated the local economy, strengthened community collaboration and cohesion, and contributed to the development of a model for sustainable agriculture and rural development.

Overall, the Daluntou Strawberry Farm experience focused on eco-friendly agriculture, food and agricultural education, and community cooperation, demonstrating how local agriculture can effectively implement the SDGs in practice. By promoting low environmental-impact farming methods, advocating responsible consumption, and protecting farmland ecosystems, the initiative not only supports the sustainable balance of natural resources but also enhances public awareness of healthy diets and environmental protection.

Looking ahead, in response to challenges such as climate change and rising agricultural operating costs, Ming Chi University of Technology will continue to deepen its efforts in sustainable agriculture, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and expand educational outreach. It is expected that Daluntou Strawberry Farm will continue to advance steadily in implementing the SDGs and serve as a model of sustainable agriculture that balances environmental protection, social participation, and local economic development.
