Ming Chi University of Technology Promotes AI Literacy Education, Enhancing Digital Learning Capabilities with NotebookLM
In response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and to enhance the digital learning and information integration capabilities of faculty and students, the Computer Center of Ming Chi University of Technology held an online seminar titled “NotebookLM Application Learning” in November 2025. The event introduced practical, application-oriented AI tools to help participants transform large volumes of data into actionable information, thereby improving both learning and teaching efficiency. The seminar attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty and students, demonstrating strong campus-wide interest in AI-driven learning applications.
The seminar featured Ms. Li Yanchiu, a well-known educational content creator with over 20 years of experience in digital teaching and more than 130,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. The course focused on hands-on operation of NotebookLM, integrating theoretical explanations with practical case demonstrations. Participants were guided on how to effectively utilize AI tools in learning, research, and administrative work to enhance both efficiency and quality.
During the session, Ms. Li emphasized that the “quality of prompts” is a key factor influencing the effectiveness of AI-generated outputs. Through concrete examples, she demonstrated how to formulate clear and focused questions to guide NotebookLM in producing more accurate and relevant content. The seminar also showcased applications of AI in report writing and data organization, enabling participants to quickly extract key points and generate summaries, significantly reducing the time required for data collection and content organization.
In addition, the course introduced several advanced features of NotebookLM, including audio and video summarization, which allow users to quickly grasp the core content of lengthy multimedia materials. The mind mapping function was also highlighted, demonstrating how complex information can be transformed into visual structures to support comprehension, memory retention, and systematic thinking. Participants generally found these features highly practical for classroom learning, project research, and interdisciplinary data organization.
Ming Chi University of Technology stated that as AI technology becomes an essential tool in both learning and professional work, the university will continue to organize diverse digital learning activities through its Computer Center. These initiatives aim to help faculty and students master the proper use of AI tools while cultivating critical thinking and information literacy. Moving forward, the university will further integrate AI applications into teaching, research, and administrative processes, deepening campus digital transformation and fostering a learning environment that emphasizes technological competence and innovation to prepare professionals for the challenges of the digital age.
