update date : 2025-10-30

Ming Chi University of Technology held its annual University Affairs Seminar on September 4–5 at the Ming Chi Lecture Hall on the first floor of the Comprehensive Building. This year’s seminar featured a diverse range of topics, including “Ming Chi Next: 10 Key Challenges × 10 Benchmark Practices”, new measures under the Higher Education Sprout Project, modular curriculum planning, the planning and outcomes of new engineering education initiatives, sharing of junior-year field learning experiences, and reviews of the future development of bachelor’s degree programs in AI, semiconductor studies, and digital marketing design.

In addition, the Colleges of Engineering, Environment and Resources, and Management and Design presented reports on their development priorities and visions, sharing achievements and future directions in integration and specialization. The seminar also incorporated mid- and long-term plan revisions and measures for enhancing student support, providing a comprehensive review of the progress and improvement directions in university affairs.

During the seminar, the University President emphasized that the event aims to encourage departments and colleges—especially younger members—to propose innovative ideas for the university’s future organizational development. Through discussions, the seminar seeks to build consensus and inject fresh thinking into university governance.

Student support remains a key aspect of campus life. The Office of Student Affairs compiled and shared its counseling experiences, engaging with department heads, faculty, and staff to promote cross-department understanding and collaboration. The President further encouraged the use of the faculty advising system to ensure that the Office of Student Affairs not only continues its efforts in student life and psychological counseling but also collaborates with the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Research and Development, and other units to provide guidance on academic planning, internships, and career development. By integrating resources and sharing experiences across departments, the university aims to offer students comprehensive support, maximizing their benefits during the learning and growth process and enhancing overall guidance and education quality.

The seminar concluded with a final discussion chaired by the University President, reviewing the two-day agenda and sharing directions for further improvement. The President highlighted that the proposed enhancements by various units reflect the principle that “organizations carry institutional spirit, and institutions rely on organizations for implementation.” Only when institutions and organizations support and advance each other can the core philosophy of “organization is institution, institution is organization” be realized, continuously promoting university innovation and sustainable development while enhancing learning and resource opportunities for all faculty, staff, and students.
