Ming Chi Assisting in the Development and Implementation of “5GAi Smart Inspection Common Platform”

update date : 2022-08-08

Ming Chi University of Technology is committed to promoting 5G vertical application, and collaborates with LEOSYS (LEO SYSTEMS) on the “5GAi Smart Inspection Common Platform” project administered by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The smart inspection glasses developed via this industry-academia cooperation have been tested and verified in the experimental factory. On Jan. 5, 2022, Director Ye and Factory Manager Chang of FPG Technical Training Center at Mailao were invited to Ming Chi for a visit to experience the development results of smart inspection, and to discuss the feasibility of using this technology in the factory, expecting to implement the research and development results in the industry.

President Thu-Hua Liu and LEOSYS jointly greeted the guests, and the visit showcased how the “5GAi Smart Inspection Common Platform,” with the assistance of smart glasses, utilizes high bandwidth and low latency of 5G to improve the efficiency of maintenance. When inspectors are not familiar with the test operation, they can use the live broadcast function of smart glasses to get in touch with the central control room from which they will get guidance. The visiting VIPs highly affirmed the development results of the inspection, and also gave practical advice and feedback on the future direction of improvement.

Ming Chi will continue to cooperate with LEOS to strengthen the 5GAi smart inspection technology and expand the application scope. It is expected that the technology will provide more professional smart inspection services for the petrochemical industry, improve the level of industrial safety and reduce the incidence of accidents.
