Ergonomics Annual Conference & Academic Seminar Closes Successfully at Ming Chi University of Technology

The 2020 Ergonomics Society of Taiwan Annual Conference and Academic Seminar was originally scheduled to be held at Ming Chi University of Technology from May 30 to 31, 2020. In response to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the conference was held in the form of virtual meetings. The seminar was sponsored by the Ergonomics Society of Taiwan, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management of MCUT, and the Crafts & Design Department of National Taiwan University of Arts. It was co-organized by the Engineering & Technology Promotion Center of MOST and the National Chung Shan Institute of Science & Technology. Due to the nature of virtual meeting, the strategy center of the conference is located in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at MCUT. A working team composed of Professor Lin and the fourth-year students of the department is on standby at any time to respond to emergencies and ensure the meeting goes smoothly.

The theme of this year's conference is "Ergonomics Challenge 2020: From ABCDE to ABCDE". The advancement of artificial intelligence and information technology contributes to the rise of the Internet of Things and the evolution of industrial production. Furthermore, it has led to major changes in the types of products and services. All these changes indicate that the way of human life and work is about to enter a new era. Faced with such a huge change, it deserves experts and scholars in ergonomics careful thinking on how to learn from traditional perspectives such as Anthropometry, Biomechanics, Cognitive ergonomics, Musculoskeletal disorders, as well as Human error and crossover to innovative areas as Artificial intelligence, Big data analysis, Cloud computing. Going with the world trends, make it become ergonomics 2.0.
