update date : 2025-11-24

The 2025 Taiwan Innotech Expo recently concluded successfully at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1, showcasing more than 1,000 cutting-edge technological innovations, with over 600 entries competing in the invention competition category. Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) presented 17 entries this year and achieved outstanding results with 3 gold, 4 silver, and 6 bronze medals, ranking 2nd among universities nationwide in total awards and 3rd in gold medals.

The 17 innovative research achievements exhibited by MCUT span the fields of green energy, biomedical technology, and smart manufacturing. The three gold-medal-winning projects were: "Smart Fertilization System and Method" by Prof. Lai (Department of Industrial Design); "Method for Preparing Composite Electrodes" by Prof. Lai (Department of Materials Engineering); and "Li₂O-B₂O₃-SiO₂ Glass-Ceramic System and Its Preparation Method" by Prof. Feng (Department of Mechanical Engineering). The silver medals were awarded to: Prof. Cui (Department of Environmental Safety and Health) for "Improved System and Method for Removing Heavy Metal Pollutants from Soil Using Effective Microorganisms Combined with Vertical Electro-Kinetic Technology"; Prof. Chen (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Heteroacene-Core A-D-A Type Molecules and Their Applications in Perovskite Solar Cells, Organic Photovoltaic Devices, or Organic Photosensors"; Prof. Lai (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Ligand-Functionalized Graphene Composite Material, Its Preparation Method, and Applications"; and Prof. Chen (Department of Electronic Engineering) for "Method for Detecting Left-Behind Objects and Integrated System Using This Method." The bronze medals were awarded to: Prof. Lin (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Triboelectric-Driven Electrolysis Integrated Device"; Prof. Huang (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Encapsulation Adhesive and Encapsulation Film"; Prof. Tung (Department of Electronic Engineering) for "Multi-Functional Data Collection Controller"; Prof. Huang (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Method for Preparing Smart Windows"; Prof. Hsu (Department of Industrial Design) for "Breath Flow-Rate Testing Device Set"; and Prof. Liu (Department of Materials Engineering) for "Modified Carbon Felt and Vanadium Redox Flow Battery."

As MCUT continues to pursue its development goal of becoming an industry-academia research-driven technological university, it invests substantial resources in research and development. Through participation in the 2025 Taiwan Innotech Expo, the university demonstrated its strong R&D capabilities.
