Parent-Teacher Conference for Academic Year 114
This year’s Parent-Teacher Conference was held in separate classrooms organized by each department. The Division of Student Counseling was responsible for coordinating with each department before the event, preparing the digital Parent-Teacher Conference handbook, posting event information and classroom assignments in the “Parents’ Section” of the “New Student Enrollment Service Website,” and sending a text message with the registration link to first-year students to remind parents to sign up. When parents registered, they could view the classroom assignment information directly on the form and access the link to the “Parents’ Section” for more details.
On August 31, the Parent-Teacher Conference was held for new students. Parents’ participation was very enthusiastic, and including faculty members, parents, and support staff, a total of 1,104 people attended. On the day of the event, Division of Student Counseling set up an information desk on the first floor of the gymnasium to answer parents’ questions about entering campus and to guide them to their respective classrooms. Student volunteers of Division of Student Counseling and departmental staff assisted with administrative matters, while homeroom teachers and department chairs hosted the conferences. The Vice President, Chief Secretary, and Dean of Student Affairs also visited various classrooms to meet with and welcome parents. During the Parent-Teacher Conference, parents heard presentations from the department chairs and homeroom teachers about the school’s and department’s approaches to career development, then engaged in discussions with the homeroom teachers, who explained the curriculum and class management while addressing parents’ questions.
Following this year’s Parent-Teacher Conference, parents were invited to complete a satisfaction survey after their session with the homeroom teachers. Overall, parents generally expressed that the conference helped them better understand the school’s educational plans, and the overall satisfaction rate reached 97.94%. The school was also able to hear parents’ questions and feedback, using this opportunity for meaningful communication on educational philosophy and goals, thereby strengthening understanding and cooperation between the school and parents to achieve better educational outcomes. Parents also offered suggestions regarding the event itself and the campus cafeteria, which will be taken into consideration for future events.
