update date : 2025-09-19

On August 14, 2025, Fr. Jesuraj Anthoniappen, SVD, Ph.D., Vice President of the University of San Carlos (Philippines), visited Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT). During this visit, both institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on several key topics, including student exchange and overseas internship programs, collaborative research in AI, materials science, and mechanical engineering, as well as fostering innovation and entrepreneurship through international competitions.

The meeting first focused on opportunities for students to study and intern abroad, with the aim of broadening young scholars’ global perspectives and enhancing cross-cultural experiences. In addition, the two sides conducted thorough discussions on the applications of AI, materials research, and mechanical engineering technologies, expressing a strong interest in working together on future research collaboration and technological development.

In terms of innovation and entrepreneurship, both parties agreed that international competitions can serve as an effective platform to inspire students to showcase their creativity and professional expertise, while also transforming academic outcomes into practical applications. This approach will not only cultivate entrepreneurial talents with global vision and practical skills, but also inject new momentum into industry–academia collaboration between Taiwan and the Philippines.
