On January 16, 2025, Dr. Parthasarathy Velusamy, Dean of R&D and Industry Relations, and Mr. Karthick Vasanthakumar from Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (KAHEDU) in India visited Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) as part of the sister school relationship. The delegation was warmly received by the Office of International Affairs. This visit further deepened the partnership between the two institutions and initiated in-depth discussions on future collaborations.
KAHEDU is a prestigious private university offering diverse academic programs in fields such as engineering, management, and medicine. The institution is dedicated to providing quality education and promoting the holistic development of its students, aiming to become a global leader in academia and research.
One of the key focuses of this visit was to understand the learning and living conditions of KAHEDU students currently enrolled in the 3+2 bachelor-master fast track program at MCUT. This was done to ensure the smooth implementation of the exchange program and to optimize future cooperation models. The delegation first visited the Center for Plasma and Thin Film Technologies, where Dr. Jyh-Wei Lee, provided a detailed introduction to the latest research achievements and technological developments, showcasing MCUT’s innovative strengths in materials science. The delegation then visited the Intelligent Vehicle Research and Development Center, where Mr. Kuan-Wei Chiao presented MCUT’s cutting-edge research in intelligent vehicle technology, highlighting the university’s advantages and development directions in the field of smart technology.
During the faculty and student exchange session, 3+2 students currently studying at MCUT shared their learning and life experiences at the university with the visiting delegation. his session allowed KAHEDU to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the students' academic and personal development at MCUT. Furthermore, representatives from both institutions' Offices of International Affairs also engaged in in-depth discussions on current collaboration projects and potential future academic and research partnerships, actively exploring more exchange opportunities, such as establishing a 1+3 master's and doctoral fast track program, offering more flexible options for student advancement and research opportunities.
This visit not only deepened the academic collaboration between MCUT and KAHEDU but also laid a more solid foundation for future student exchanges and industry-academia partnerships. Both institutions are looking forward to expanding their areas of cooperation, promoting international education and technological development, and creating new opportunities for both parties.
