MCUT Dean Leads 130 Faculty and Students in Early-Morning Volunteer Service at the 2026 Yung Ching Charity Run
On September 20, 2026, the Office of Academic Affairs at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) organized the 2026 MCUT Volunteer Day, bringing together 130 faculty members and students under the leadership of the Dean of Academic Affairs. Gathering at 2:00 a.m., the volunteer team traveled to Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office to support the 2026 Yung Ching Charity Run. Through hands-on service, participants put the spirit of service-learning into action while contributing to the success of this large-scale community event.
Before sunrise, MCUT volunteers were already at their service stations, undertaking a variety of responsibilities including participant registration assistance, distribution of event materials, route guidance, venue maintenance, and operational support. Working collaboratively and efficiently, student volunteers helped ensure smooth event operations and provided valuable assistance to both organizers and runners throughout the event.
Beyond logistical support, several students took on the role of event mascots, interacting enthusiastically with runners and spectators to create a lively and welcoming atmosphere. Whether cheering participants on from the sidelines or assisting at service stations, MCUT volunteers demonstrated warmth, professionalism, and a strong commitment to serving others.
The event also provided students with a meaningful experiential learning opportunity. Through early-morning preparation, teamwork, and on-site problem-solving, participants strengthened their communication, coordination, and leadership skills while gaining a deeper appreciation of the important role volunteers play in the success of large public events.
MCUT has long promoted service-learning and volunteer education, encouraging students to extend classroom learning into meaningful community engagement. Through initiatives such as MCUT Volunteer Day, the university continues to cultivate graduates who possess not only professional expertise, but also compassion, civic responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive impact on society. As the university moves forward, it remains dedicated to providing diverse volunteer opportunities that empower students to transform their enthusiasm into meaningful action.
