MCUT Shines at 2026 Taiwan Higher Education Fair in Thailand! Building a Two-Way Talent Pipeline via Industry-Academia Links and Sister-School Partnerships
To deepen connections with Southeast Asian higher education institutions and boost the global brand influence of Taiwanese technological universities, the Office of International Affairs team from Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT OIA) recently traveled to Bangkok to participate in the "2026 Taiwan Higher Education Expo in Thailand" at Samyan Mitrtown Hall. During the expo, MCUT leveraged its outstanding R&D potential and practical-oriented academic model to attract numerous top Thai sister universities and local Taiwanese businesses for discussions, achieving substantial results across educational promotion, international academic cooperation, and industry-academia matching.
MCUT’s booth (G3) saw bustling activity throughout the event, earning high attention and support from representatives of several key Thai sister institutions. Notable visitors included Dr. Hong-Ming Ku from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), representatives from Kasetsart University, and Mr. Jiratheep Suwannachim, International Affairs Officer from King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB). KMUTNB specifically proposed concrete collaboration plans for "short-term internships" and "exchange semesters," furthering the substantive academic partnership between the two universities.
"This exhibition not only showcases MCUT’s high-quality educational resources but also elevates international exchange to a strategic level of 'building career pathways with local Taiwanese enterprises in Southeast Asia,'" stated the MCUT OIA team. "Through precise linkages with local Taiwanese businesses, we create a seamless two-way career pathway for international students—whether they choose to 'stay in Taiwan to unleash their potential' or 'return home to build a career in top-tier Taiwanese companies.'"
A major highlight of the event was MCUT's successful connection with local Taiwanese enterprises. The administrative management team from Inventec Electronics Thailand (ITE), a prominent Taiwanese enterprise, made a special visit to MCUT’s booth to discuss talent demand for mass production at its new plant in the Bhakasa Industrial Estate. The ITE team emphasized an urgent need for professionals in engineering, quality assurance, production management, and IT who possess Chinese communication skills. They expressed strong interest in the Ministry of Education's "INTENSE Program" mechanism, looking forward to deepening international talent cultivation and industry-academia alignment with MCUT in the future.
Interactive discussions at the booth also highlighted immense enthusiasm among Thai youth for cutting-edge STEM fields such as AI, semiconductors, electronic engineering, and biomedical sciences. Addressing feedback that some outstanding Thai students are still learning Chinese, MCUT OIA announced plans to actively coordinate with relevant academic colleges to evaluate English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) programs or course Englishization for popular STEM fields. This initiative aims to lower language barriers for international talent and significantly boost MCUT's competitive advantage in Southeast Asia's higher education market.
During the expo, the MCUT OIA team also engaged in enthusiastic interactions during Taiwan Night and at the booth with domestic partner institutions—including Yuan Ze University's Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and Ming Chuan University's Mandarin Studies & Culture Center—exchanging views on preparatory Mandarin courses and cross-institutional academic resource sharing. MCUT affirmed that it will continue to uphold its core mission of "Integrating Industry and Academia, Connecting with the World," expanding its Southeast Asian partner networks to provide global students with the most career-competitive educational environment.
