MCUT 2026 International Student New Year Celebration

update date : 2026-04-15

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Ming Chi University of Technology organized the 2026 New Year Celebration for International Students during the Lunar New Year period, bringing together students from around the world to celebrate the festive season and create a warm and welcoming campus atmosphere. The event was carefully planned by the OIA, using simple yet meaningful interactions to convey the university’s care and best wishes to its international students. It also allowed them to experience a strong festive atmosphere and a sense of home while studying abroad.

On the day of the event, the OIA prepared chocolates for all international students, symbolizing sweetness and good wishes for the new year. Students visited the OIA office to receive the chocolates, and the atmosphere was relaxed and joyful. Many students took the opportunity to interact with one another, sharing New Year traditions from their respective countries. These interactions helped bring students closer together and showcased the vibrancy and diversity of multicultural exchange on campus.

Dr. Winnie Chieh-Lan Li, Dean of the Office of International Affairs, noted that in addition to academic development, international students’ adaptation to daily life and psychological well-being are equally important. By organizing culturally meaningful festive activities such as New Year celebrations, the university not only promotes interaction among international students but also strengthens their sense of belonging to the campus community. These activities allow students to feel the university’s care and support, even amid their busy academic schedules. Looking ahead, the OIA will continue to organize similar initiatives that integrate cultural exchange and student support, aiming to create a more inclusive and internationalized campus environment where international students can study and live comfortably.

Furthermore, such activities help build cross-cultural connections among international students, enhancing mutual understanding and respect for diverse cultural backgrounds. Through these interactions, students expand their social networks and gain valuable intercultural experiences. The OIA will continue to promote a wide range of multicultural activities, ensuring that international students have a rich and meaningful campus life experience.

Ming Chi University of Technology has long been committed to internationalization and to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. Through various international exchange initiatives and student support programs, the university continues to enhance students’ global perspectives and intercultural competence, cultivating highly skilled professionals with strong global competitiveness and contributing to the development of a globally connected society.
