The forum focused on the dialogue between cultural rootedness and global connectivity, gathering scholars and practitioners from Germany, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam to share their experiences and forward-looking perspectives on community development and cultural sustainability.

The forum began with opening remarks by Professor Jau-Rong Chen, followed by presentations from five nations. Topics included Germany’s “From Code to Community,” Japan’s role of universities in rural cultural continuity, Thailand’s preservation of local wisdom through agricultural teacher training, Taiwan’s Co-op Design practice in San Chiao Yung, and Vietnam’s development of creative industries and cultural sustainability. In addition to panel sharing, the roundtable session focused on cross-national collaboration strategies under the theme of “Policy, Practice, and Partnership.”
