Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) Alumna Alice Chia-Chi Hsiao from the Department of Electronic Engineering returned to campus on November 12, 2024.
As a distinguished alumna who participated in the university’s inaugural internship program at Inteplast Corporation in the United States in 2012, Alice has accumulated extensive experience through her years of internship and employment at Inteplast. She has also served as a mentor for multiple cohorts of MCUT students participating in the U.S. internship program.
During her return, Alice shared her invaluable experiences in internships, her professional journey in the U.S., and her mentorship insights with faculty members and students during an administrative meeting.
During the meeting, Alumna Hsiao outlined the professional skills and English proficiency requirements that the company expects from interns. She also shared valuable advice on helping students adapt to the work environment, encouraging them to make the most of every internship opportunity to enhance their professional expertise and English language skills, thereby preparing themselves for entering the U.S. job market.
The event was met with great enthusiasm, with many students who had either completed or were planning to undertake internships in the U.S. actively participating and engaging in in-depth discussions with Hsiao. Her insightful sharing inspired and instilled confidence in students preparing for U.S. internships and career planning, leaving a lasting motivational impact on both faculty and students in attendance.
