The Office of International Affairs, Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) recently held the 2024 Fall Semester Orientation for Overseas Students, welcoming new students from around the world to join its vibrant academic family. The Division Chief of the Overseas Student Affairs, Ms. Yu-Fang Tong, mentioned that the event aimed to help overseas students from various countries adapt more quickly to campus life and foster interaction with local students.

The orientation featured a range of activities, including a campus tour and an introduction to student life. Dean of the Office of International Affairs, Dr. Chieh-Lan Li, emphasized that MCUT is dedicated to providing comprehensive support for overseas students, both academically and in their daily lives, helping them build strong connections with peers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

This semester, overseas students at MCUT come from multiple countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, contributing to a diverse campus atmosphere. The university hopes that this multicultural environment will bring new energy and creativity to the campus. Through the orientation, new students were able to integrate quickly into life in Taiwan, while MCUT’s extensive international network and respect for cultural diversity were highlighted.

Additionally, the university introduced its unique “theory and practice integration” teaching model to the new students and provided detailed information on academic resources and future opportunities. Many students expressed that the orientation made them feel the warmth and care of the university, leaving them excited for their upcoming academic journey.

The successful organization of this orientation not only demonstrated MCUT’s strength in global education but also underscored its commitment to supporting overseas students. Going forward, the university will continue to strengthen its global connections and provide a high-quality educational environment, promoting academic and cultural exchange for more overseas students.
