Gender Equality Themed New Book Display—Seeing Differences Through Reading, Learning Respect and Understanding
Gender equality is not only a key issue in education but also closely tied to daily life. From self-identity and relationships to family and work, gender views shape how we see ourselves and others. As discussions become more diverse, understanding and accepting differences matters. Ming Chi University of Technology continues to promote gender equality education, encouraging students to explore gender issues from different perspectives, examine everyday stereotypes, and develop independent thinking and judgment.
This academic year, the Library acquired new books on gender awareness, sexuality education, women’s personal growth, bodily autonomy, gender diversity, school bullying, intimate relationships, and workplace equality. These include stories of women overcoming traditional barriers and pursuing goals, alongside works on bodily boundaries and relationships. With picture books, biographies, and other publications, readers can find their own entry point into these issues and draw inspiration from diverse experiences.
The Library held the "Gender Equality Themed New Book Display" from September 14 to October 16, 2026, in the 4th-floor book display area, featuring 67 new books. The themed display offered students and faculty opportunities to explore less familiar issues and broaden their reading horizons. It encouraged readers to rethink everyday gender assumptions and better understand their own and others' experiences through reading.
