2026/03/10 Information Security Promotion Event and Education Training (1): Introduction to Enterprise Information Security and Protection Case Examples
Ming Chi University of Technology held the “Information Security Promotion Event and Education and Training (1): Introduction to Enterprise Information Security and Protection Practices” on March 10 at the Lecture Hall on the 1st Floor of the Library and Information Building. The event was successfully completed, with a total of 164 faculty and staff members participating, achieving a 100% participation rate. This demonstrates the University’s strong emphasis on information security issues, as well as the high level of attention faculty and staff place on information security education and training.
The theme of this seminar was “Introduction to Enterprise Information Security and Protection Practices.” The course content focused on helping faculty and staff establish fundamental concepts of information security, as well as strengthening their ability to identify security risks and enhance their awareness of protective measures. Starting from basic information security concepts, the seminar further introduced common security threats and attack methods, including social engineering attacks, malware, account and password management, and email fraud. Through practical case studies, common information security incidents in enterprises and institutions were analyzed, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of information security in daily operations and the appropriate protective measures that should be implemented.
This event specially invited Instructor Wang Chih-Chung as the speaker. Mr. Wang possesses extensive practical experience and a strong teaching background in information security, and has long been engaged in the promotion of information security technologies and practices. Through multiple real-world cases and scenario-based explanations, he provided clear and accessible insights into common information security incidents encountered in daily work environments and their corresponding preventive measures. He also reminded faculty and staff to remain vigilant when using email, system accounts, and network services, and to implement various security measures to reduce information security risks caused by human error.
On the day of the event, on-site interactions were highly engaging, and participating faculty and staff provided positive feedback regarding the practicality and applicability of the course content. According to the post-event questionnaire results, most participants indicated that the course helped them gain a clearer understanding of fundamental information security concepts, common attack methods, and daily protective measures, while also enhancing their security awareness and response capabilities in the workplace. Overall satisfaction reached a “good” level or above, indicating that the event effectively improved faculty and staff’s information security awareness and basic protective capabilities, successfully achieving the expected outcomes of information security education and promotion.
Ming Chi University of Technology will continue to organize related promotion activities and education and training programs in the future to further strengthen information security awareness among all faculty and staff, and to integrate security protection concepts into daily operations, jointly creating a secure and robust campus information environment.
