MCUT Faculty and Students Support Taipei Marathon for the 4th Year, Passing on the Spirit of Devotion.
The 2025 Taipei Marathon took place in the early morning of December 21. Ming Chi University of Technology once again recruited 117 faculty members and students as volunteers to support the event.
For the fourth consecutive year, the university has formed a volunteer team of over one hundred members, demonstrating the achievements of service-learning and the spirit of youth dedication. As the city remained wrapped in the soft glow of dawn, a group of energetic young volunteers were already standing ready along the marathon course. Upholding the spirit of “gathering at dawn and giving it their all,” they took on responsibilities such as distributing finisher medals and supplies at the finish area. Through their enthusiasm and action, the volunteers accompanied runners toward the finish line, helping ensure the smooth operation of the race and bringing warmth to Taipei’s early morning.
A Legacy of Service: Four Years of Hundred-Strong Teams Showcasing "Ming Chi Power"
MCUT has long been committed to service-learning, cultivating a strong sense of social engagement among its students. For four consecutive years, the university has mobilized over a hundred volunteers annually for the Taipei Marathon. This year’s team of 117 volunteers demonstrated not only passion in numbers but also seamless coordination in their professional roles. From the pre-dawn assembly to guarding the finish line, these volunteers embodied teamwork and professionalism, serving as the most steadfast supporters along the track.
Guardians of Medals and Supplies: Passing the Final Baton of Honor
This year, the MCUT volunteer team took on a significant responsibility: managing the awarding of finisher medals and distributing supplies for the Half Marathon. At the finish line, volunteers carefully presented heavy, hard-earned medals to runners who had pushed their limits, while swiftly providing essential supplies. One volunteer shared, "We stand at the finish line waiting for you, walking with you through the final and most crucial stretch. Seeing the sense of achievement on a runner’s face when they receive their medal—that is our proudest moment."
Defining Youth: Finding Value in Giving
"Youth is found not only on the track but in every moment of giving." Through their own hands, these volunteers passed warmth and encouragement to every runner who dared to challenge themselves. This transition from being a "participant" to a "supporter" reflects the core value of MCUT’s service-learning—allowing students to experience life education beyond textbooks and realize the truth that "it is more blessed to give than to receive."
A Moment of Glory: Heartfelt Thanks to All
As the event successfully concluded, MCUT extends its heartfelt congratulations to all finishers and its deepest gratitude to the 117 volunteers who remained steadfast at their posts in the cold wind. It is the selfless dedication of these unsung heroes over the past four years that has added a touch of warmth to this world-class sporting event, filling the 2025 Taipei Marathon with hope and strength. This volunteer service not only promotes a culture of healthy sports but also fulfills MCUT’s commitment to service-learning and the principles of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
