update date : 2025-12-03

The Smart Elder-Care Industry Accelerator (SECIA), jointly established by Ming Chi University of Technology and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, continues to promote the integration of innovative senior-care technologies into real-life settings. SECIA actively connects enterprises with community sites to conduct practical demonstrations and applications. This year, SECIA led its cohort companies to participate in the “2025 Double Ninth Festival Health Expo,” held by Chang Gung Health and Culture Village on October 24, 2025, showcasing new energy for senior care through the integration of technology and health.

During the expo, SECIA supported VIET HUA TRADING CO., LTD., and LEADTEK BIOMED INC. in conducting on-site demonstrations and validation tests. Through hands-on experiences and interactive sessions, older adults and their families were able to directly explore the latest age-friendly technologies and health products, increasing public awareness and willingness to engage in proactive health management.

The showcased products covered a wide range of solutions designed for the needs of older adults. VIET HUA TRADING CO., LTD. presented mobility aids, foot massage mats, stretching boards, professional insoles, and cat-paw grip balls to support lower-limb stability, muscle strengthening, and gait improvement, enhancing seniors’ overall mobility safety. LEADTEK BIOMED INC. showcased its turmeric herbal patch featuring the BtNPN patented nano-permeation technology, which uses natural ingredients and offers high absorption—receiving strong interest from senior users. Wearable ECG smartwatches and an AI-powered stroke risk prediction system were also displayed, offering a more comprehensive solution for health risk monitoring and management.

As an integrator of long-term care facilities, medical institutions, and industry–academia resources, SECIA plays a central role in bringing innovative products into real-world care environments. This health expo marked a significant milestone in field implementation, strengthening the interaction between companies and community users while expanding both the depth and breadth of smart technology applications in elder care.

Looking ahead, SECIA will continue collaborating with its cohort companies and community partners to implement more smart care solutions, advance the development of age-friendly environments, and contribute lasting innovation and sustainable momentum to Taiwan’s aging society.
