University of Cincinnati Dual Degree Program — A Fruitful Exchange and Successful Information Session
Ming Chi University of Technology held the University of Cincinnati (UC) Dual Degree Program Information Session on September 15, 2025, drawing enthusiastic participation from students of the College of Engineering, the College of Environment and Resources, and the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management. The event featured a special presentation by Ms. Oxana Prokhorova, Director of the Center for Global Engagement at the University of Cincinnati, who visited MCUT to introduce in detail the UC–MCUT Master’s Dual Degree Program. Her presentation covered the application process, curriculum structure, admission requirements, tuition, and scholarship opportunities, enabling students to gain a comprehensive understanding of studying for dual degrees in the U.S. Ms. Prokhorova also shared insights into UC’s research environment and academic resources, encouraging students to embrace international challenges and expand their career horizons.
In addition to the main presentation, twelve MCUT students who joined UC’s English and Semiconductor Professional Training Camp this summer shared their firsthand experiences. Speaking in a relaxed and engaging manner, they recounted their time at UC—from classroom learning and faculty interaction to daily life in the U.S.—offering vivid snapshots of what cross-cultural study truly looks like. Their stories provided valuable reference for peers considering pursuing studies abroad.
During the lively Q&A session, students raised questions about application timelines, English proficiency requirements, housing options, living expenses, and career prospects. Ms. Prokhorova responded thoughtfully to each inquiry, offering practical advice drawn from experience and emphasizing the importance of early planning and active preparation to strengthen their applications and ensure a smooth transition.
This event not only deepened students’ understanding of the features and advantages of the UC Dual Degree Program but also further strengthened the academic collaboration between MCUT and the University of Cincinnati. Through such exchanges, the Office of International Affairs hopes to support more MCUT students in stepping onto the global stage—broadening their academic and professional perspectives, and transforming international learning into future competence and impact.
