Starting from the second semester of the 2024 academic year, Deputy Minister of Education Yeh Ping-Cheng has launched a nationwide lecture tour across colleges and universities. The theme of the lectures is "Facing an Uncertain Future: How to Discover Your Life’s Calling." The primary goal is to help university students who are about to enter the workforce understand how they can prepare during their studies to lay a solid foundation for their future careers.
On April 15, Deputy Minister Yeh accepted an invitation from Ming Chi University of Technology. During his speech, he shared numerous success stories. Many of these individuals did not study in so-called "prestigious" departments, nor did their careers align with "star" industries. However, through seizing various opportunities during their time in school, constantly growing, and bravely facing challenges, they eventually carved out successful careers for themselves. In addition to sharing these inspiring stories, Deputy Minister Yeh also presented a set of principles aimed at helping students smoothly transition into ideal jobs after graduation.
After the speech, a student asked the Deputy Minister for his views on starting a business after graduation. Given that entrepreneurship varies widely depending on the industry, team, and leadership, the Deputy Minister drew from his own and his friends’ entrepreneurial experiences to offer some advice. He recommended that students gain experience first before starting a business, in order to increase their chances of success.
