On May 6, 2025, Mr. Chen, assistant director from Formosa Plastics Corporation USA, visited Ming Chi University of Technology and delivered an insightful and enriching seminar titled “Perspectives on American Culture and Industry”

Mr. Chen provided an in-depth analysis of the U.S. economic and industrial structure, highlighting the unique cultural characteristics of various states. Using Texas as a key example, he explored the region’s oil industry, polyethylene market, and semiconductor development, offering valuable perspectives on the relationship between local industry characteristics and cultural context. He also emphasized the growing importance of strategic partnerships in industry and shared valuable experiences and practical advice related to MCUT students’ internships in the U.S.

The seminar was insightful, dynamic, forward-looking and thought-provoking, broadening students’ perspectives on international career development and inspiring both faculty and students to envision and look forward to future international academia-industry collaborations through a deeper understanding of the local cultural and creative industries.
