To celebrate the Lantern Festival—a traditional holiday symbolizing reunion and joy—the Department of Industrial Management at Ming Chi University of Technology held a vibrant cross-cultural exchange event. International students and Master’s students were invited to share the festive spirit together through a fun and interactive program featuring “Lantern Riddles in English,” “Tangyuan Tasting,” and “Cultural Communication Activities.”

The event was filled with laughter and excitement. For many international students, it was their first time encountering lantern riddles in English, offering a unique and engaging challenge. Participants enthusiastically collaborated to solve the riddles, turning the activity into a memorable learning and bonding experience. Many students shared that the event not only deepened their understanding of the Lantern Festival, but also strengthened connections with local peers.

“Through tangyuan, a traditional festive treat, we not only tasted the flavor of the holiday, but also felt the warmth of reunion,” said one international student from Vietnam. Local students also took the opportunity to practice English and share their culture, creating a cheerful and meaningful atmosphere.

This event reflected the department’s commitment to multicultural integration and encouraged students to step out of their comfort zones and develop a global perspective. The Department of Industrial Management will continue to promote similar events, fostering an inclusive and open environment for learning and exchange.
