The Indigenous Youth Club of Ming Chih University of Technology organized the “The Force Together: Hand in Hand with Taishan – 2024 Taishan Community Cultural Roots and Care Action Plan” from October 14 to November 24, 2024. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with the Mustard Seed Foundation, the Taishan branch of the New Taipei City Metropolitan West District Indigenous Family Service Center, and other NGO groups. The project aimed to enhance community welfare and establish strong local connections.
The core objectives of the event included promoting community harmony through diverse services such as elder care, hygiene education, community cleaning and disinfection, and Indigenous cultural exchange and learning. Furthermore, it sought to empower participating teams and various local groups by strengthening their capabilities.
Through these activities, students were not only linked with local resources but also gained a deeper understanding of Indigenous communities and culture in the Taishan area. The program encouraged meaningful exchanges and fostered a collaborative learning environment for mutual benefit.
These initiatives improved the community’s living conditions while providing a platform for students to learn and grow. By engaging in hands-on service experiences, participants enhanced their organizational skills, strengthened teamwork, and learned effective planning and problem-solving strategies. This approach benefited both the community and the student group, fostering leadership, social responsibility, and closer partnerships for ongoing collaboration and mutual progress.
