update date : 2020-08-26
The 2020 Commencement Ceremony of MCUT was held at the Gymnasium on June 10th. The ceremony was hosted by President Thu-Hua Liu, and, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was not open to the public. Only the award recipients and presenters were allowed to attend the ceremony, while the event was broadcasted live on the university website.

President Thu-Hua Liu reminded all the graduates that they should fulfil the pledges that others cannot make based on the school motto ‘diligence, perseverance, frugality and trustworthiness.’ As President Liu emphasized, ‘achievements always come from the time you spend,’ and after the graduates enter the job market, they are expected to invest ‘perseverance’ and ‘diligence’ in themselves. President Liu encouraged all the graduates to pursue and find their ideal careers, and to ‘fly high’ in their bright future.

President Thu-Hua Liu especially mentioned that Chairperson Wun-Yuan Wang expected the graduates to ‘think carefully and analyze deeply’ in order to contribute themselves to the society. President Liu especially expressed his gratitude to Chairperson Wang for his encouragements and support and to Mr. Fen-Chi Hsu, Director of MCUT Alumni Association, for raising various scholarships.

The graduating students of this year had excellent performances at school. Several students clubs, including the Business and Management Student Association, Pop Dance Club, Pop Music Club, Chinese Music Club, Guitar Club, Wind Band Club, and many others, performed greatly in the MOE club evaluations which indeed make MCUT an eye catching university!

The ceremony was ended by the words of appreciation given by graduate representatives as well as a ‘farewell song’ written by MCUT students. The graduates expressed their deep appreciation to both teachers and parents, and wish each other the best of luck in the years to come.
