Vietnamese Teachers’ Day 2017 was held by the Vietnam Student Association (VSA) affiliated to Ming Chi International Student Association (MISA). The Vietnamese students were very excited to cook their home-style food in a foreign country here in Taiwan. They prepared four kinds of dishes: crispy spring rolls, fresh spring rolls, rice noodles with grilled pork and corn sweet soup. All participants seemed to like the flavor of the food, although they come from different nations.

The VSA members divided the activity site into three areas: the stage, the buffet area and the guest book table. They designed the stage very carefully and were able to take advantage of the available materials at MCUT for decoration. The stage displayed the pattern of “11/20,” made by the lighting line, to show the significance of this event. In addition, candles and ribbons were used to create a more shimmering space. VAS members also designed “thank-you cards” to thank all teachers at MCUT. The card was especially made in the Vietnamese style, with an old stamp on it to shed light on the cultural characteristic of Vietnam and to bring up a sense of closeness between Vietnamese students and teachers at MCUT.
