Ming Chi University of Technology Partners with Universitas Sugeng Hartono to Promote 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Program in Digital Marketing Design
To deepen international academic cooperation and expand students’ cross-border learning opportunities and career competitiveness, Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) welcomed a delegation from its sister university, Universitas Sugeng Hartono (USH), Indonesia, late last year. During the visit, the two universities formally signed a cooperation agreement for the Digital Marketing Design 2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program, marking a new stage in their joint efforts to cultivate international talent.
The USH delegation was led by Dr. Jacob F. N. Dethan, Rector of USH, and Dr. Ahmad Aufar Ribhi, Vice Rector of USH. MCUT President Dr. Thu-Hua Liu personally received the delegation. Also in attendance were Dr. Chieh-Lan Li, Dean of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. Li-Fang Sun, Chair of the Bachelor’s Program in Digital Marketing Design; and Mr. Christian Jacobsen, Director of the Division of Global Cooperation and Exchange, Office of International Affairs. Their participation reflected MCUT’s strong commitment to advancing substantive international collaboration.
The delegation first visited the MCUT University History Gallery, where guests gained a deeper understanding of the university’s founding spirit, educational philosophy, and institutional development. During the following exchange luncheon, representatives from both universities discussed student study pathways, curriculum articulation, and future directions for collaboration, building a shared foundation for the implementation of the dual degree program. In the afternoon, faculty members guided the delegation through the Bachelor’s Program in Digital Marketing Design, introducing its curriculum structure and practice-oriented teaching features. The guests also visited the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Research Center, where MCUT shared its research achievements and development goals in artificial intelligence and data applications. These visits offered the delegation a broader view of MCUT’s teaching, research, and interdisciplinary strengths.
Under the newly signed “2+2 Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program,” students are expected to complete foundational and professional coursework at their home university during the first two years, followed by two years of study at the partner institution. Upon fulfilling graduation requirements, students may receive degrees from both universities. This structure integrates professional training with international mobility, enabling students to develop cross-cultural learning experience, strengthen practical competence, and enhance their competitiveness for future study and employment.
Looking ahead, MCUT will continue to expand substantive partnerships with overseas sister universities. Through dual degree programs, student exchange, and academic research collaboration, the university aims to create a more diverse learning environment with a global perspective and to cultivate professional talent equipped for the needs of international industries.
