The 17th Campus Road Running
To encourage Ming Chi University students to develop regular exercise habits, strengthen their physical fitness, and enhance overall health, the University holds an annual campus-wide road running event to uphold the founder’s spirit of diligence and simplicity. The “17th Yongqing Cup Campus Road Running Event of the 114th Academic Year” was held in the afternoon of November 26, 2025. Students across the University was divided into Groups A, B, and C. on the day of the event, the temperature was approximately 20°C, with cool and pleasant weather. About 2,500 students participated, along with 114 faculty and staff members who joined the event.
The Office of Physical Education planned the entire route and arranged medical stations to ensure safety throughout the event. Directional staff were also stationed along the course to ensure that students could complete the race in a safe and well-organized environment. All group competitions proceeded smoothly, with participating students demonstrating strong sportsmanship and discipline, and the overall order was well maintained. In addition to adopting chip timing to improve the accuracy of results, this year’s event also introduced a downloadable completion certificate service, allowing students to record and review their personal exercise performance. The campus road running event concluded successfully, adding another highlight to the University’s sporting activities, and the University looks forward to creating new milestones in the coming year.
Student participation statistics are as follows: across the three groups, there were a total of 2,746 students, with 2,524 participants, resulting in a participation rate of 91.9%. A total of 1,726 students passed, with a passing rate of 68.4%. The number of participants this year was comparable to that of last year.
Group A had a total of 804 students, with 734 participants and 70 absentees or students on official duty, yielding a participation rate of 91.3%. A total of 505 students passed, with a graduation-threshold passing rate of 68.8%.
Group B had a total of 946 students, with 864 participants and 82 absentees or students on official duty, resulting in a participation rate of 91.3%. A total of 578 students passed, with a passing rate of 66.9%.
Group C had a total of 996 students, with 926 participants and 70 absentees or students on official duty, achieving a participation rate of 93%. A total of 643 students passed, with a passing rate of 69.4%.
Among all grades, first-year students recorded the highest number of participants (926), as well as the highest passing rate at 69.4%, indicating strong participation willingness and good physical fitness performance among first-year students in this campus road running event. Overall, students from all grades met the expected participation goals, and the event proceeded in good order. Based on the overall outcomes, it is evident that holding the campus road running event annually not only promotes students’ health and physical fitness, but also helps cultivate regular exercise habits, strengthen class cohesion, and enhance the overall sporting atmosphere on campus.
