Ming Chi University of Technology has once again been awarded the "Outstanding Green Procurement Award" by the New Taipei City Government, marking the sixth consecutive year of receiving this honor. This award recognizes the university's excellent achievements in green procurement, environmental actions, and sustainable development. It highlights the university's long-term commitment and joint efforts in environmental protection, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and resource recycling.
The "Outstanding Green Procurement Award" is held annually by the New Taipei City Government to commend enterprises and organizations for their outstanding performance in environmental protection and sustainable development, encouraging them to actively participate in green procurement and promote sustainable development. At the "113th Annual Green Consumption and Outstanding Environmental Volunteer Joint Commendation Ceremony" held on the 28th of this month, Ming Chi University of Technology was publicly commended and awarded the "Outstanding Green Procurement Award," represented by General Affairs Director Meng Kui. This is an important achievement for the university in the field of environmental sustainability. Director Meng stated that the campus green procurement policy not only responds to national environmental policies but also concretely implements the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Every procurement represents a responsibility and commitment to future generations.
The university has long promoted green procurement policies, prioritizing the use of environmentally certified products for various campus procurements, including energy-saving, carbon-reducing, water-saving, and green building materials. This has led to a continuous increase in green procurement amounts each year, with the cumulative amount exceeding 15 million yuan in 2024. The scope is extensive, covering office equipment, teaching materials, and building repair materials, all embodying the concept of green procurement.
In the future, Ming Chi University of Technology will continue to enhance the efficiency of green procurement and strive towards the goal of "net zero carbon emissions." The university will reduce the campus's carbon footprint and explore more innovative technologies to achieve energy savings and carbon reduction. At the same time, the university will collaborate with academia, industry, and government agencies to jointly promote environmental technology and innovative solutions, contributing to the realization of global sustainable development goals.
