update date : 2024-12-12

AISVision Boosts Cutting-Edge AI Research at Ming Chi University of Technology

On October 9, 2024, ASUS and Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) jointly established the AISVision Application Lab at the university’s Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. ASUS Global Vice President, Dr.Quande Chang, attended the inauguration ceremony and represented ASUS in donating ten sets of AIS Vision software, valued at a total of 5 million NTD, to his alma mater, MCUT. This donation aims to support students in learning AI visual recognition technology. Dr.Quande Chang also delivered a keynote speech on “Applications and Impacts of Generative AI.” He stated, “ASUS has long been committed to promoting AI education and supporting scientific research. Through industry-academia collaboration, we hope to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and technology, providing MCUT students with more accessible and professional learning resources. This will deepen their cross-disciplinary technical capabilities and inspire innovation in the field of artificial intelligence.”

AISVision is a software development kit (SDK) designed specifically for computer vision AI. It is user-friendly and powerful, featuring ASUS’s proprietary, state-of-the-art AI model training framework and a rich set of development functions. This helps MCUT students accelerate their experience in model training and inference. AISVision boasts an intuitive UX design, allowing users to complete AI vision application projects in just four steps. The training framework and applications include image classification, object detection, object segmentation, and anomaly detection, with various convenient image annotation and model tuning tools. Additionally, AISVision is compatible with the Intel® OpenVINO™ architecture for efficient inference execution, and its API supports C, C++, and C#, making it easy to meet the needs of secondary development or system integration of optoelectronics and software.

MCUT President, Dr.Thu-Hua Liu, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This donation not only demonstrates the corporate sector’s support for education but also significantly enhances our teaching and research capabilities in the AI field. We are deeply thankful for Dr.Quande Chang generous contribution.” Since the establishment of the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in 2019, MCUT has undertaken numerous industry-academia collaboration projects, totaling over 150 million NTD. The infusion of software resources not only strengthens the university’s AI research capabilities but also provides valuable learning resources for students. Both parties look forward to more collaboration opportunities in the future to jointly promote the development of AI technology.
