Memorandum of Industry-academia Cooperation between Engel Asia and Ming Chi University of Technology

In order to further develop intelligent medical devices for Taiwan and the ASEAN region, C&F Co. Ltd., together with leading European manufacturers (Engel, 2KM and Ewikon), and Ming Chi University of Technology have signed up a memorandum of industry-academia cooperation. The representatives from each parties are Professor Kuo-Yung Hung, the CEO of Research Center for Intelligent Medical Devices, Ming Chi University of Technology; Mr. Kenk Jan Pomstra from Ewikon Asia; Mr. Gero Willmeroth from Engel Asia and Tom Chan, the Vice General Manager of C&F Co. Ltd.

The agreement includes
1. C&F Co. Ltd. will supply Engel injection molding machine, 2KM LSR handling system and Ewikon cold runner system to the Ming Chi University Research Center.
2. The installation and training program will be performed by C&F Co. Ltd. together with agreed-upon resources from respective equipment manufacturers.
3. C&F Co. Ltd. and the University’s Research Center will host three to four medical industry seminars or workshops on an annual basis.
4. C&F Co. Ltd. will invite University staff and students to participate in the training and development sessions.
5. C&F Co. Ltd. will invite overseas specialists, at agreed-upon frequency and duration, to conduct training at the Research Center.
6. C&F Co. Ltd. will arrange for the engineers of the Research Center to visit overseas medical and plastic exhibitions.

Tom Chan, the Vice General Manager of C&F Co. Ltd., articulated that the global medical industry is progressing rapidly with the commercialization of newer and smarter technology. Engel injection molding machine, 2KM LSR handling system and Ewikon cold runner system are the leading European equipment. C&F Co. Ltd. will promote Ming Chi University of Technology to become the region’s leading medical equipment manufacturing training center to tie in well with key focus areas of the government’s New Southbound Policy.
