update date : 2021-11-25

In order to strengthen the development of diversified learning for hometown students, the Ministry of Education launches a pilot program of career exploration for high school hometown students interested in related fields at technical colleges. To cooperate with the Ministry’s program, Ming Chi works with Ash Cloud Co., Ltd. (Shenzhen) and Su Mei Hua (Shun Song) Industry Co., Ltd., and created “AIR Factory” (“advanced intelligent real-time production demonstration factory”). With a visit at the “AIR Factory” at Ming Chi, indigenous students are able to have a preliminary experience with three main axes: intelligent manufacturing, intelligent production and intelligent operation.

To implement the plan, Dr. Li-Chun Chang, Dean of Office of Student Affairs, along with Dr. Shun-Chi Chen, Director of Student Activity Division, and Ms. Hong-mian Lin from Admission Section Division, went to visit Mr. Hong-ying Huang, president of Hualien Industrial Vocational Senior High School in early July. Later, President Huang led several teachers and second and third grade students of the chemical engineering department to visit Ming Chi on August 14th. In addition to a tour of the production line field, Ming Chi also arranged a visit to the Green Energy Center and the research laboratory at the Department of Chemical Engineering. Students were able to experience higher education courses in multiple ways and their long-term planning for the future to be inspired. Mr. Wang Yung-ching, founder of Ming Chi College of Technology, used to set up an aboriginal class to help aboriginal students study with tuition-free education. Therefore, the visitors from Hualien were also led to University Archives, part of whose documents record how the school has thought highly of the cultivation of indigenous students.

On top of the tours, Ming Chi also held a seminar to explore the educational differences and interaction methods separately used in the city and the country. From the seminar, teachers and students from Hualien Industrial Vocational Senior High School experienced various measures taken by the school to cultivate future hometown students.
