Manager Training Program held by Ming Chi University of Technology and Formosa Plastics Group

update date : 2024-04-15

In order to implement the integration of vocational universities and practice, Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) has integrated the resources of the whole university. Under the leadership of President Liu, Thu-hua, and Dean of the College of Management and Design, Lin, Jin-kwan, a cross-disciplinary team of inter-academic and departmental resources was formed to handle innovation and creativity training workshops through industry-university cooperation. This year, MCUT was again invited to conduct in-depth training for first-line managers by Formosa Plastics Group.

In 2018, MCUT held the manager training workshop for Formosa Plastics Group twice, with more than 150 participants each time. The participants applied the design thinking methods to propose novel ideas for research topics, and put innovative ideas into practice to cultivate the ability of problem solving through learning by doing. Moreover, the participants were encouraged to create possible innovative practices, and stimulate unlimited creativity to increase diverse horizons. They expressed that the program were beneficial to them.

In addition to working closely with Formosa Plastics Group, in recent years, MCUT has also actively linked with the local industry to better understand the characteristics and needs of the industry. Hopefully, the two sides can work together to create opportunities and encourage teachers to help students to get more hands-on experiences. MCUT will seize the opportunities to seamlessly integrate industry and education to enhance professional competence and workplace competitiveness.
